La presente Norma Oficial Mexicana establece los límites máximos permisibles de emisión expresados en coeficiente de absorción de luz o por ciento de opacidad, proveniente de las emisiones del escape de los vehículos automotores en circulación que usan diésel como combustible, método de prueba y características técnicas del instrumento de medición.

This Official Mexican Standard establishes the maximum permissible limits of emission expressed in coefficient of light absorption or percent of opacity, coming from the exhaust emissions of the automotive vehicles in circulation that use diesel as fuel, the test method and the technical characteristics of the Measuring instrument.
