NEW STANDARD - NOM-003-SCT-2008, Characteristics of the labels on containers and packaging, designated to the transport of hazardous substances, materials and wastes.

Published in the DOF August 14, 2008 – effective Oct. 14, 2008

This new NOM takes effect on Oct 15, 2008 - if you purchase it before Oct 15th, you will receive both the current standard (NOM-003-SCT-2000) and the new standard.

 

NOM    = Norma Oficial Mexicana = Official Mexican Standard
003    = the number of this NOM
SCT    = Secretary of Communications and Transport
2000    = The year this NOM was published in the DOF

La presente Norma Oficial Mexicana establece las características, dimensiones, símbolos y colores de las etiquetas que deben portar todos los envases y embalajes, que identifican la clase de riesgo que representan durante su transportación y manejo las sustancias, materiales y residuos peligrosos.

  

This Official Mexican Standard establishes the characteristics, dimensions, symbols and colors of the labels that must carry all the containers and packaging, that identify the class of risk that they represent during their transportation and handling the hazardous substances, materials and wastes.
