PROSEC Decree  
Updated and available

Major reforms were published in the Official Daily of the Federation (DOF) on November 29, 2006. 

Hundreds of tariff classifications have been added and hundreds have been lowered from 5% duty to 0%.

The industrial classifications most affected are: Electronics, Mining and Metallurgy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, transport, toys, footwear, leather.

If your company takes advantage of Prosec, you need to review these changes.

NEW MAQUILADORA DECREE
PUBLISHED Nov 1, 2006

(Effective Nov. 13, 2006) - cancels old Maquila and PITEX decrees and includes the simplified Control of Inventory Requirements previously in ANEXO 24.

REGULATION OF THE GENERAL LAW FOR THE PREVENTION AND INTEGRAL  MANAGEMENT OF WASTES

FINALLY PUBLISHED.. November 30, 2006  - takes effect in 60 days

The GENERAL LAW FOR THE PREVENTION AND INTEGRAL MANAGEMENT OF WASTES ...was published in March of 2004 and the Regulation was supposed to follow in within 6 months - it has finally been released and takes effect in 60 days. We will have this translation available within the next few weeks - this is the most important Environmental legislation in 3 years.
