March 2008 - Bulletin from Glenn McBride at www.mexicanlaws.com

Glenn McBride - I thank everyone for all their feedback about the Mexicanlaws site. As many of you know, the new translations and services that we offer are often the result of requests from our clients. Since I receive similar requests from different people, I though it helpful to create a bulletin highlighting what we have been up to this year.

Judicial Branch of the Mexican Gov't.
I have received many questions about the Judicial Branch and the court system in Mexico. I have created a new section with diagrams and definitions outlining how the Judicial branch of Government is set up. I have already created a similar section on the web site for the Executive Branch and I am now working on the legislative branch. I hope this will help answer the many questions that people have about the Mexican Government.  Go to our home page for a link to the Judicial branch section or click on the link above.

Taxes - I have created a new section on the site for taxes. We have translated the new tax law IETU, and also the new law that takes effect in July 2008 for Cash Deposits, within the next few months we will add the Income Tax Law and the IVA law.  Click on SAT on the home page.
Free Tax Info - In 2007 I donated my time as a social service to the SAT (Tax Administration Service) in Mexico City. I translated a series of brochures that answer questions that you may have about donations, gifts, sale of real estate, baggage of international passengers, etc. You can read these online or download them - for free.

May 7 - 9, 2008 -
We are only doing one Health and Safety Seminar in 2008. This seminar is an intensive 3 day seminar designed to provide, in English, the background, reference, training, and preparation in Mexican Health and Safety programs to be effective in Mexico.

The program details Health and Safety legislation, Health and Safety Audits, manuals, documentation, Verification Organizations and Testing Laboratories – we explain how Health and Safety programs work in Mexico.

The three day presentation utilizes thousands of pages of translated Laws, Regulations, and Standards, and includes presentations by an STPS Health and Safety Inspector, the assistant to the Secretary of Labor in Baja California, a Mexican attorney,  representatives from  verification organizations, and two medical doctors that perform on site testing.
