DECREE
by which the Mexican Labor
Observatory is created permanently
FIRST ARTICLE.
This Decree has the purpose of establishing the system
called Mexican Labor Observatory, as a service of
information accessible, permanent, and free to the
population, on the behavior, dynamic, tendencies, and
characteristics of the occupations, the employment, and
professions in the country.
The STPS has started an
employment website that provides services to people looking
for work and employers looking for employees. In some
states, they have also opened physical sites where workers
go for job screening and interviews, and employers can
request workers in certain areas or with certain skills. The
physical locations are managed by the State delegations of
the STPS. This decree is like an official announcement of
this service although it has actually been functioning prior
to this Decree. It is free to employers and people looking
for work. I don't know whether this is something that you
can use or not, but it is a pretty big deal in Mexico now.
