ARTICULO 1. El presente ordenamiento es de observancia
general en todo el territorio nacional y en las zonas
donde la Nación ejerce su jurisdicción; tiene por objeto
reglamentar la Ley General del Equilibrio Ecológico y la
Protección al Ambiente, en materia de evaluación del
impacto ambiental a nivel federal.

ARTICLE 1. This legislation is for general observance in
all the national territory and in the zones over which
the nation exercises its jurisdiction; it is meant to
regulate the General Law of Ecological Equilibrium and
Protection of the Environment, in the area of evaluation
of environmental impact at the Federal level. |

ARTICULO 2. La aplicación de este reglamento compete al
Ejecutivo Federal, por conducto de la Secretaría de
Medio Ambiente, Recursos Naturales y Pesca, de
conformidad con las disposiciones legales y
reglamentarias en la materia. |

ARTICLE 2. The application of this regulation is under
the authority of the Federal Executive branch, through
the office of the Secretary of Environment, Natural
Resources, and Fisheries, in conformity with the legal
provisions and regulations in the area of environmental
impact. |
