Esta norma oficial mexicana establece los límites máximos permisibles de emisión de ruido proveniente del escape de los vehículos automotores, motocicletas y triciclos motorizados en circulación y su método de medición.

This Official Mexican Standard establishes the maximum permissible limits of noise originating from the exhaust of automotive vehicles, motorcycles and motorized tricycles in circulation and their method of measurement.

La presente norma oficial mexicana se aplica a vehículos automotores de acuerdo a su peso bruto vehicular, y motocicletas y triciclos motorizados que circulan por las vías de comunicación terrestre, exceptuando los tractores para uso agrícola, trascabos, aplanadoras y maquinaria pesada para la construcción y los que transitan por riel.

This Official Mexican Standard applies to automotive vehicles according to their gross vehicular weight, and motorcycles and motorized tricycles that circulate on terrestrial communication routes, exempting the tractors for agricultural use, earth movers, graders, and heavy machinery for construction and those that transit by rail.
