La vigilancia de la calidad del agua para uso y consumo humano, tiene como objetivo prevenir la transmisión de enfermedades infecciosas y parasitarias, así como las derivadas de la continua ingestión de sustancias tóxicas que puede contener el agua abastecida a la población.

The monitoring of water for human use and consumption, aims to prevent transmission of infectious and parasitic diseases, as well as those arising from the continued ingestion of toxic substances that water supplied to the population may contain.
